Wick Academy have lined up four summer friendlies ahead of the 2023/24 Highland League campaign.

The Scorries will take on a Ross County XI at Harmsworth Park on Tuesday, July 11, before two games against North Caledonian League opposition.

Gary Manson's side will go to Tain to play St Duthus on Thursday, July 13, then welcome Thurso to Harmsworth Park on Thursday, July 20.

Academy will cross the Pentland Firth for a match against an Orkney AFA select on Saturday, July 22.

The Highland League season kicks off on Saturday, July 29, when the Scorries are away to Banks O' Dee.

Academy's first home match of the league campaign will be against Deveronvale on Saturday, August 5.

Wick finished 16th in the Highland League in 2022/23.

Meanwhile, Ross Allan has brought his time with Academy to an end after almost 14 years.

In a social media post, Academy said: "Ross played 313 times, scored 13 goals and made telling contributions in us reaching four cup finals and winning the North of Scotland Cup in 2015 during his Wick Academy career.

"The club would like to thank Ross for all his efforts over the years and wish him good luck in whatever he goes on to do."

Academy season tickets are on sale for 2023/24 with an "early bird" deal available until Saturday, July 8. Details are on the club's website.
