Wick Academy rounded off their campaign in style with a 5-0 victory over Rothes at Mackessack Park this afternoon, giving Ian Munro and Richard Hughes the perfect send-off as they step down as co-managers.

Two weeks after achieving their biggest away win in the Highland League with a five-goal triumph at Lossiemouth, the in-form Scorries produced a repeat performance in the second of their end-of-season double-header against the Speysiders.

In doing so they set another club record by recording three clean sheets in a row for the first time since joining the league in 1994, having beaten Rothes 1-0 at home last weekend.

Stevie Cunningham got the opener after nine minutes and he added his second on the 20-minute mark. Sam Mackay extended the lead two minutes from half-time.

Player of the year Richard Macadie headed in the fourth after 49 minutes and Gary Weir rounded off the scoring in the 55 minute.

Macadie’s goal brought his tally for the season to 28 in all competitions – putting him fourth overall in the HFL scoring charts for 2010/11.

See Wednesday’s Caithness Courier for a full report and post-match comments following Academy’s last game of the Hughes/Munro era.
