Wick Academy facing three away trips in eight days

Wick Academy will face three away trips in an eight-day spell from March 9-16 as they play catch-up on their Highland League fixtures.

Several rearranged games involving the Scorries were announced this week, although dates have still to be confirmed for three of their matches.

Academy take on Brora Rangers at Harmsworth Park tonight (Wednesday), followed by another home game on Saturday against Formartine United.

Wick's fixtures following on from that are: Inverurie Locos (away) on Saturday, March 9; Strathspey Thistle (away) on Wednesday, March 13; Huntly (away) on Saturday, March 16; Buckie Thistle (home) on Saturday, March 23; Brechin City (home) on Saturday, March 30; Forres Mechanics (away) on Wednesday, April 3; Brora Rangers (away) on Saturday, April 6; and Keith (home) on Saturday, April 13.

To be arranged: Banks O' Dee (home), Formartine United (away) and Keith (away).

It is understood the season will be extended by two weeks for some clubs and fixtures will be played on Saturday, April 27, and Saturday, May 4.

Brechin City fought out a goalless draw Banks O' Dee in Tuesday's top-of-the-table clash at Glebe Park.

Highland League fixtures – Wednesday, February 28: Buckie Thistle v Lossiemouth; Forres Mechanics v Huntly; Wick Academy v Brora Rangers (8pm).

Friday, March 1: Banks O' Dee v Turriff United.

Saturday, March 2: Brora Rangers v Fraserburgh; Buckie Thistle v Strathspey Thistle; Deveronvale v Rothes; Huntly v Forres Mechanics; Inverurie Locos v Lossiemouth; Keith v Brechin City; Nairn County v Clachnacuddin; Wick Academy v Formartine United (3pm).

Wednesday, March 6: Keith v Nairn County; Strathspey Thistle v Brora Rangers; Turriff United v Deveronvale.
