JACK Halliday's second half strike ensured Wick Academy ended 2017 on a high note with their first away victory of the season.

The Scorries fell behind with seven minutes remaining in the first half as Ryan Farquhar gave Lossiemouth the lead.

But Wick were given the opportunity to level the game when they were awarded a penalty three minutes later when Gary Manson made no mistake from the spot.

In a tight second half, Halliday proved to be the difference as he scored the winner in the 74th minute to move Academy seven points ahead of the bottom four as they reach the halfway point of the season.
