The first of the Caithness junior badminton championships took place at the Wick community campus on Saturday with the under-11 age group competing for honours.
Twenty children – nine girls and 11 boys – took part, and they produced some excellent games and rallies.
The girls played a round-robin format of two groups and the top two in each group went through to play-offs. The other girls then played another round-robin to decide the consolation winner.

The second semi was a Dunnet play-off between Moria Darby and Myah Macleod. Myah also won 15-3, 15-3.

The boys played a round-robin competition of three groups, with the top two in each group going through to play-offs. The other boys then played another round-robin to decide the consolation winner.
