Top Joe’s got their first win of the season in Caithness AFA Division Two with a 3-2 victory away to table-topping Keiss.

The result at Bayview Park on Monday night ended the village side’s 100 per cent start to the league campaign.

Top Joe’s took the lead after a cross from Bruin Gunn was met on the half-volley by Derek Munro, who gave the Keiss keeper no chance.

Top Joe’s added a second midway through the half with a sublime strike by Kevin MacGregor from 25 yards.

Keiss came back into it at the end of the half, reducing the deficit with a fine turn and smart finish by Tony Miller.

The leaders got themselves level early in the second period when Carter Mackay scored after a defensive mix-up.

Keiss had a lot of pressure but couldn’t break down the Top Joe’s rearguard. The Ormlie-based outfit grabbed the winner five minutes from the end when Scott Mowat finished well.

On Friday night Keiss had come from behind to beat Halkirk 4-1 at Bayview Park.

Alan Larnach put the visitors in front but Tony Miller fired home the equaliser and Keiss pulled clear with further goals from Kyle Sutherland and Olly Manton.

Keiss player/manager Bradley Thomson was red-carded before half-time but Halkirk were unable to make the most of their numerical advantage and Manton rounded off the scoring with his second of the night.
