Thurso Netball Club's first home game in the Highland and Moray league resulted in a 47-20 victory over Gordonstoun.

Thurso took an early lead with some steady shooting from Ariella Thomas and Shona Comrie in the first quarter. The defensive pressure from Mia Bain, Ilona Unger-Russell and Tegan Souter continued into the second quarter, allowing Thurso to extend their advantage.

The mid-court of Anna Swanson, Rachel Gunn, Bethin MacDonald and Lisa Mackay worked hard throughout.

Mia Bain was named as player of the match after controlling the defensive circle and providing crucial support in attack.

A further game followed between the respective second teams.

Thurso hit the ground running with an impressive first quarter from shooters Hannah Quinn Perriewood and Brenna McVean.

Gordonstoun came back in the second quarter and closed the gap.

In the second half Thurso's defensive trio of Eva Hymers, Tegan Souter and Hannah Cowie worked hard to cut out options for Gordonstoun and regain control.

The centre court of Summer So, Emma Sutherland and Abby Cook worked relentlessly to feed the ball into the shooting circle.

It ended 32-15 to Thurso.
