Members of Thurso Swimming Club recently attended round one of the North District Age Group Championships in Aberdeen Sports Village.

These championships see the top-performing swimmers in the district compete across the full range of events.

Seven local swimmers achieved the required number of qualifying times to participate at the meet and all performed very well over the weekend with 17 personal bests achieved overall.

Andrew Campbell and Louis Pickering both qualified for the final in the 100m butterfly. Although they didn't get among the medals, both gave an excellent account of themselves and improved upon their qualifying times.

All swimmers enjoyed the meet are now training hard for round two of the championships which will be held at the end of the month in the same venue.
