Thurso swimmers among the medals at Elgin ASC Spring Meet

YOUNG swimmers from Thurso took home medals and an impressive 60 personal best times when they attended the recent Elgin ASC Spring Meet.

A team of 17 from Thurso Swimming Club took part in 92 races held at Buckie swimming pool.

The youngsters in the 10-and-under age group performed particularly well, with Emily MacDougall winning the 50m freestyle and taking bronze in the 50m butterfly. Kirsten Coghill took home the silver medal in the 50m breaststroke and Edward Mills won gold in the 50m butterfly and bronze in the 50m breaststroke.

Around 200 swimmers from 12 clubs across the north district attended to take part in 50m, 100m and 200m distances across all four strokes, as well as the individual medley event.
