FIVE surfers from Caithness have been given wildcards into the UK Pro Surf Tour which takes place in Thurso.

Thurso surfers Shoana Blackadder, Mark Boyd, Iona McLachlan and Chris Noble, along with Dunnet surfer Chris Clarke have been selected as Scottish Surfing Federation (SSF) wildcard entries in the tournament at Thurso East which begins on Thursday, October 29.

The wildcard entries means the five surfers will not have to pay entry fees to take part in the competition.

SSF members in Caithness who did not receive a wildcard are eligible to take part in the event but will be required to pay an entrance fee.

Noble, Boyd and Clarke will take part in the open event while Blackadder and McLachlan will compete in the women's event.
