SISTERS Rebecca and Lauren Miller reinforced their status as two of the most talented disco dancers in the UK when they took on the best in the country.

The Thurso pair competed at the International Freestyle Dance Challenge in Blackpool which saw the best dancers from England, Wales, Ireland and Norway compete for the top crown.

There was major success for Lauren (12) who won the under 14 championship level solo category after only recently moving into the section.

She was also victorious in the under 14 slow dance section which puts her one step closer to the Freestyle Premiership Dancing Championships.

Rebecca (14) also achieved success when, along with Shannon Brown and Chloe Parnell, she won the championship youth trio’s section.

She also made it to the semi-finals of the elite competition when she was up against the best dancers in Europe and just missed out on a place in the final.

The two girls both take their dancing very seriously and every Saturday they make the eight-hour round trip to south-west Scotland to train at the prestigious Dawn Turnbull School of Dance in Ayr. The sisters have already picked up a number of awards, most notably Rebecca being crowned European champion in her section at the Brean Eurodance 2012 event in Bristol.

Both girls will be heading to Blackpool in December to take part in Disco Kid 2012 when they will be competing against some of the most talented dancers in the world.
