Thurso players dominate county squash contest

THURSO Squash Club players took home most of the silverware up for grabs in the county championship, played at Wick. Our photo shows the men’s champion, Thurso’s Jamie Henderson, receiving his trophy from Donald Durrand, treasurer of Wick Squash Club. Runner-up was Mark Mackay (right), Thurso. The women’s championship went to Carole Begg (second left), Thurso, while runner-up was Donna Majilton, Wick (left). Other winners were: back row, from left: men’s plate and veteran’s winner Donald Pollard, Thurso; men’s plate runner-up and under-19 championship runner-up Rory MacDougall, Wick; veterans’ runner-up Jim Georgeson, Wick; under-19 champion Owen Harrold, Wick; under-15 champion Ross Mowat; runner-up and under-19 plate winner Kyle Reid; under-15 plate winner Scott Laffety, all Thurso.
