They took on Stromness in their first match who started strong and Thurso took a quarter to find their rhythm and gain confidence. Thurso had a strong second quarter and were working well in the shooting circle.

In the end the experience of Stromness was too much for Thurso with Stromness winning 31-13.

Thurso then went straight into their next match against Kirkwall Grammar School which proved to be a tough test.

Kirkwall Grammar's sharp, fast passing made it difficult for Thurso to keep up with and recorded a 58-6 victory.
