Thurso 'gutted' by Inverness Athletic's late fightback in North Caledonian League
Thurso manager Michael Bremner admitted he and his players were "gutted" by the turn of events in last weekend's North Caledonian League match against Inverness Athletic at North Kessock.
Leading through Rob McLean's first-half header, the Vikings looked to be on course for another good result following their goalless draw with leaders Loch Ness. However, Ryan Macleod struck twice in the last few minutes to secure a 2-1 victory for Athletic.
"It was a sickener," Bremner said. "We played well and we scored in the first half – it was a good header from a corner.
"In the last couple of weeks we've been defending well. Teams don't look like breaking us down.
"It was in the 86th minute that they scored their first one. I looked at my watch and I thought, 'Oh no, here we go, we'll just take the draw.'

"But they pushed on and in the 89th minute they got the winner. It was just two midfield runners – we switched off and didn't pick them up, and the same boy scored both goals.
"The boys were gutted after putting in all that effort and then having it taken away."
Thurso, who are 10th in the table, are at home to second-bottom Clachnacuddin "A" on Saturday.
"They came up and hammered Halkirk a few weeks ago and they won their game last weekend," Bremner said. "But we'll be confident, we'll be hoping to get something out of it."
