There was frustration for Thurso and Halkirk United on Saturday as their respective North Caledonian League matches against Bonar Bridge and Alness United were postponed because snowbound pitches at Naver and Dalmore Park.
The Vikings also suffered the indignity of dropping to the bottom of the table as a result of Inverness Athletic's 3-1 victory over Nairn County "A" in the only North Caley fixture to beat the weather. Athletic and Thurso are both on the nine-point mark but Michael Bremner's side have four games in hand.
The Caithness clubs will return to action this Saturday, with Halkirk at home to Alness in the quarter-finals of the North Caledonian Cup while the Vikings welcome Golspie in the league.
Thurso's game against Bonar was originally meant to be away, but on Friday it was switched to Naver pitch before the weather intervened and led to it being called off.
Thurso were also due to play Bonar tonight under the Golspie floodlights, but that fixture has been rearranged for Saturday, March 26.
Inverness Athletic's match against Nairn was moved to at the 4G surface at Nairn Academy.
Rory Williamson gave Nairn the lead in the first half but Athletic levelled soon after the break through new signing Stephen Rennie. Graeme Stewart scored from the penalty spot before Ryan Walker made sure of the points in the closing stages.
