Thurso battle against league leaders Inverness Diamonds in Highland and Moray League

Thurso Netball Club were unable to cause an upset against undefeated league leaders Inverness Diamonds as they went down to a 71-25 defeat.

Thurso started the game strong with excellent passages of attacking play.

Thurso managed to break down some very strong defensive pressure in the goal third.

A tireless centre court performance from mid courters Bethin MacDonald and Mia Bain kept Thurso in the game.

Excellent movement and shooting from Shona Comrie and Laura Bain throughout the game kept the score ticking over for Thurso.

However, in the end the experience of the league leaders was too much for the young Thurso side as Inverness Diamonds ran away with a 46 point victory.

Team spokeswoman Seonaid MacDonald it was a hard working performance from Thurso with a number of players shining during the match.

MacDonald said: “A special mention to Debbie Boulivant and Sarah Henstridge for their first game this season for Thurso Netball club.

“A final mention to player of the match Laura Bain for an excellent performance in the shooting circle.”

MacDonald added: “It was a fantastic team performance against very tough opposition.”
