TAM Mulraine, representing the Francis Street Club, Wick, is the new Caithness Indoor Bowling under-25 champion.

He defeated the reigning champion, Peter Dymond Jnr (Weigh Inn, Thurso), in a tense final over 15 ends.

The annual event was organised by Watten Bowling Club and played in the village hall. It attracted 10 potential champions from around the county.

Tam led the final from the start, racing to a six-point lead over the first four ends. But Peter soon got into his stride over the next six ends to come within two points.

However, the Francis Street player kept his cool and on the 14th end led by 11 shots to seven to lift the title.
