Sutherland sets new course record

CAITHNESS Cycling Club’s weekly 10-mile time trial was held on the slower Shebster course last week due to roadworks but conditions were good with little wind.
Allan Sutherland responded well to set a new course record of 23 min 50 sec. In a close battle for second, Darren Bain edged out Dave Morrill by six seconds and John Falconer had a narrow advantage for fourth place over the rapidly improving Andrew MacLeod, who took the maximum six points in the Handicap League.

Positions are very close in the Handicap League – Joe Spencer has a point lead over John Falconer with Gary Angus just two behind.

This week is a busy one for club members with the club "10" on Tuesday, the Midsummer "25" at Kildary the following evening and the Cromarty "50" at Invergordon on Sunday morning. Several members also compete in the gruelling Highland Cross duathlon tomorrow.
