The Caithness Cycling Club rider was followed by Stuart Anderson and Graeme Clyne, who were separated by a second.
Anderson had the edge on his fellow Wheeler throughout the race. Though the gap closed dramatically in the latter stages, Anderson held out to take the full club points on offer.
The race saw an impressive debut for 13-year-old William Gunn who completed the course in 37.32, while another youngster Mark Webster recorded a new personal best in 28.54.

The next race was a difficult night for the field of nine, with strong winds and rain making for tough conditions.
Despite the conditions, William Gunn recorded a new personal best of 36.44, with Mark Webster just missing out by a second on his record.
Clyne managed to cap off his return from injury with his first win of the season, only missing his fastest time from last year by four seconds.
Anderson finished second but the close times were between Charlie Mackay and Brian Grant in third and fourth,
with only a second separating the pair.
