The very warm weather made for pleasant conditions, although the headwind to the turn was not conducive to fast times. Nevertheless, youths Joe Spencer and Craig Clark both scored personal bests by over a minute and Roger Toswill, Dave Spencer and Alasdair Washington all clocked their best times this season.

Results: 1, A. Sutherland, 23 min 37 sec; 2, J. Falconer, 26.42; 3, R. Toswill, 26.59; 4, A. Washington, 27.27; 5, J. Spencer, 27.40; 6, P. Cartwright, 27.58; 7, J. Foster, 28.16; 8, G. Morgan, 28.24; 9, Lorna Stanger, 28.32; 10, D. Spencer, 28.32; 11, C. Clark, 31.33; 12, I. Clark, 34.36.

Last weekend Lorna Stanger and Dave Morrill travelled west for the tough 95-mile Skye Sportive ride with over 6000 feet of climbing. This weekend they are joined by Allan Sutherland for the 100-mile Cairngorm Sportive which starts and finishes at the 2000 ft high Cairngorm mountain car park.

Other club members travel to Forres for the North of Scotland 10-mile championships, the Forres “25” and a 29-mile APR handicapped road race.
