'Super results' well deserved for Caithness riders at Kirriemuir competition

Eight local riders and nine ponies travelled to Auchlishie Eventing at Kirriemuir along with coach Frances Sutherland to compete in showjumping, dressage and eventing.

Ava Bain on Magnum, Erica Pottinger on BB, Isla Miller on Fawkes and Aimee Holmes on Lady competed in the PC 70 sections.

Liam Mackenzie (Vogue and Wee Vintage Abbie) competed in the PC80 showjumping, while Danielle Sinclair on Shelby and Alysha Holmes (Rory) joined Liam for the PC80 eventing and dressage.

Erin Hewitson on Che competed in the PC 90 eventing and novice dressage, and Danielle and Alysha joined for the PC 90 showjumping.

Results: Showjumping – PC70: 4th team Ava, Aimee, Erica and Isla; Isla 3rd individual; Erica 10th individual.

PC80: Liam 2nd individual on Wee Vintage Abbie

PC90: Erin 6th individual.

Dressage – PC70: 1st team Ava, Erica, Isla; Isla 1st individual; Ava 2nd individual; Erica 2nd individual.

PC80: 3rd team Alysha, Danielle, Liam (Vogue and Wee Vintage Abbie); 1st individual Liam (Wee Vintage Abbie); 3rd individual Liam (Vogue); 4th individual Alysha; 5th individual Danielle.

Novice dressage: 1st individual Erin.

Eventing – PC70: Ava 2nd individual; Erica 2nd individual.

PC80: 5th team Alysha, Danielle and Liam (2); 1st individual Liam (Wee Vintage Abbie); 7th individual Alysha; 7th individual Danielle; 9th individual Liam (Vogue).

PC90: 2nd individual Erin.

Coach Frances Sutherland said: "All of the riders put in a fantastic effort over the weekend and there were some real highlights across all three days.

"Everyone thoroughly deserved their super results and it was great to see Caithness so well represented by such an enthusiastic group of young riders, horses and supportive parents."
