A record 50 entries drove into Towerhill as the Caithness Autocross Club staged the inaugural two-day event.

Garry Elder blitzed the track on the first day as his Mini pick-up special roared round to clock up the fastest time in 2 min 01 sec.

Lenny Humphries' buggy was three seconds behind, while Gordie Donn took third in his Honda Civic in 2 min 13 sec.

It was a case of "same again" the following day as Garry Elder once more cruised his way to the day's fastest time as he completed the altered track in 1 min 19 sec.

Humphries once more had to settle for second spot, while Mark Elder took third spot in his Yamaha YXZ.
