Players and officials of Staxigoe United have shown their gratitude for a £500 donation from the Johnnie Robertson memorial bowls day last year.

They presented Emma Robertson and Gavin Robertson, daughter and son of the late Johnnie, with a bunch of flowers as a thank-you from the club prior to their Highland Amateur Cup tie against Brora Wanderers at the Upper Bignold Park in Wick on Saturday.

Staxigoe, who play in the first division of the Caithness Amateur Football Association league, won the cup tie 2-1. The team’s new home kit is sponsored by Caithness Scaffolding.
