Pentland United 2 Wick Groats 0

Scorers: Geruzel (29) Campbell (67)

THE first trophy of the Summer football season is heading to Dunnet as two goals either side of half time gave Pentland United a deserved victory at Castletown in front of over 300 fans.

The Stabs took the lead just before the half hour when a lack of communication between Kyle Ross and Stewart Ross led to a back pass landing to Lukasz Geruzel in the penalty box who easily shot past Graeme Williamson.

Wick Groats rarely threatened in the match and United doubled their lead in the 67th minute when substitute Sean Campbell latched on to a long ball to launch a thunderbolt from the edge of the box into the top right hand corner.

Grant MacNab and Greg Shearer could have pulled one back for Groats in the closing minutes, but goalkeeper Michael Gray was alert to keep his clean sheet.
