The Senior Stableford competition at Reay last week proved to be a memorable one for Graham Harness who bagged himself a spectacular hole in one at the par-three fifth.

Harness, who has been in fine form of late, was helped by his ace to a Stableford score of 38 points and runner-up spot on the day.

The only man to beat Harness in the field was John Brock, who posted an excellent tally of 40 points to take the win. Brock played his best golf during a fine inward half of 39 which included a birdie at the 15th hole.

Mike Halliday finished in third place on 35 points, with Alex Anderson and Stuart Greig next best on 33.

The gents' November Medal saw players having to contend with wet and windy weather, with only the keenest braving the links. The conditions clearly did not bother Joe Wilson, who bagged the silverware after an excellent round of 81 for nett 69.

Donald Mowat took second place with a solid round of 85 for nett 71, while club captain Andy Bain posted the best gross score of the day in the shape of a 79 for a nett 72 and third place.

Despite the conditions, Bain managed to birdie the tricky par-four eighth hole. David Ross was pipped in to fourth place on countback after he also posted a nett 72, with a fine birdie at the 13th hole providing the highlight of his round.

This Saturday the ladies will be competing in round two of the Winter Stableford competition, while the gents will compete in round two of the Winter Eclectic on Saturday and round six of the Winter League Stableford on Sunday.
