Lieurary hall was the venue as Caithness Small Bore Rifle Association completed its senior indoor championship for the Shearer Cup.

After a late-night finish, David Simpson (left) of Wick Old Stagers took the title in what was a very tight competition.

The trophy was presented by Jim Manson, who runs the event on behalf of the association.

The event is open to the leading nine individual local Caithness league shooters – by aggregate – who then compete in a round-robin match to find the eventual winner. J G Campbell and J Fraser (both Halkirk) took second and third respectively.

The event was hosted by Westfield Rifle Club.
