The Shearer Cup for the Caithness Indoor Shooting Championship has been won by Hugh Simpson of Wick Old Stages. Halkirk’s John Campbell was runner up, with Rognvald Brown of Pentland in third.
The Shearer Cup for the Caithness Indoor Shooting Championship has been won by Hugh Simpson, (left), Wick Old Stagers who is seen here receiving th trophy from Jim Manson. John Campbell, (left), Halkirk and Rognvald Brown, (2nd right), Pentland came 2nd and 3rd respectively. The competitors are selected from the top nine individual aggregates in the indoor leagues and met in Westfield to shoot a shoulder to shoulder matchplay competition to determine the winner. The other competitors are, back, from 2nd left, David Wilson, Watten, Robbie Campbell, Halkirk, Brian Young, Stevie Nicolson, David Simpson, all Wick Old Stagers and (extreme right) David Bremner, Watten.
Competitors were selected from the top nine aggregates in the indoor leagues, and met in Westfield for a shoulder-to-shoulder matchplay competition.
The field was completed by David Wilson (Watten), Robbie Campbell (Halkirk), Brian Young, Stevie Nicolson, David Simpson (all Wick Old Stagers) and David Bremner (Watten).
