The Legion came unstuck against strong opposition from Sasa's Cellar Bar.

THE Camps Bar have gone top of division one in the Wick and District Darts League after a narrow win against the Blackstairs.

As this was going on the then current leaders, the Legion, were coming unstuck. Against the odds, Harper’s lad Nicky Denoon won all his matches in his league debut for Sasa’s dream team, which has such resources that it is hard to see them not winning the title. However, the Camps have already taking their scalp this season.

The Brown Trout won at the Queen’s fielding their strongest possible line-up for the first time to date. Elsewhere, the John O’Groats lads returned from Thrumster with the points and the Norseman came back to Wick with nothing after the Comm “B” swept them aside.

In the ladies’ section the dominant force that is the Francis Street Club showed no cracks in their armour as they saw off closest rivals Camps “2”. Carol Sutherland (FSC) beat county champion Ann Wells 2-0.

The Crown won at the Seaview and Harper’s got their first win, against the Mountain Dew. The Smiddy Inn beat Queen’s.

In the second division FSC went top and they look like making a quick return to the top flight. Harper’s “C” remain the only side yet to register a point after they went down at home to Comm “A”.
