Sarah scores top marks at Halkirk dressage

Sarah Aitken and Start Smart were on form again at the final of the winter dressage league run by Caithness Riding Club.

The winning partnership scored 73.5 per cent in their Novice 24 test and 71.1 in the Novice 27 class, while in the preliminary tests Alison Wild won both the senior sections riding Cookie.

In the junior classes Fearne McCarthy and Boo won both the introductory classes and sister and brother duo Morven and Liam Mackenzie battled it out in the prelim section taking a test each with less than half a point difference in their scores.

The competition was held in the outdoor arena at Halkirk on April 24-25,with Kimberley Battleday the judge for the day. Kimberley also provided flatwork instruction on both days.

This weekend the club will be running a clinic with local instructor James Munro.
