Riders get in the festive spirit at Halkirk
CAITHNESS Riding Club members joined in the festive fun when they dressed up for a Christmas jumping day at the weekend.
Saturday's informal competition was a great success with a good number of competitors coming along to take part in the different classes on offer.
Riders got in the spirit of things by dressing up in Christmas themed outfits for the event which was held in the indoor school at Halkirk.
The school had already been decorated in time for the RDA show and competitors made a great sight as they jumped round accompanied by seasonal music.
Many hands make light work, and the committee were delighted to get help in setting up and clearing away from the parents who came along as well as some of the riders.
Mulled wine and mincemeat pies were served up by the committee members.
Club chairman Jean Gunn said: "There was a great atmosphere at the Christmas Fun Jumping Day and everyone seemed to enjoy their outing. Some of the fancy dress outfits were very entertaining and it was lovely to see everyone getting in the festive spirit, both young and old."
Next weekend it will be the Pony Club's turn to run their annual Christmas Show at Halkirk.
