Reid wins on countback in latest round of summer league at Thurso

Scoring was again high in the latest round of the A&A Mackay Builders Summer League at Thurso Golf Club.

Neil Reid had two sevens and a six but he still managed 43 points, helped by a birdie at the 13th. This was enough to win on countback from Gordon Munro.

Alan Mackay continued his fine form with 41 points on ahead of Mark Foubister and Alan Swanson. Roddy Gray, Dane Nicolson and Allan Mackenzie all had 39 points.

On 38 points were William Calder jnr, Jim Sangster, Keith Dreaves and Michael Forbes.

Saturday saw the Ronnie Williamson Cup in a Stableford scoring format and again scoring was high. Steven MacDonald birdied the 14th on his was to 45 points, one ahead of Eric Campbell.

Clark Grant was third with 43 points. Steven Lowe beat playing partner Chris Sutherland by one shot, recording 41 points.

Ross Sutherland and Iain Boyd both had 37 points.
