Pentland United made short work of Lairg Rovers as they dished out a 5-1 thumping during their Highland Amateur Cup clash at Ham Park.

Lairg didn't help their own cause much when they had Luke Mackay sent off inside the first half-hour.

United will now face CAFA Division Two side High Ormlie Hotspurs, who advanced into round two after Ben Gordon's penalty saw them come away from John O'Groats with a 1-0 victory.

Lybster went goal crazy as they booked a trip to Orkney side Rendall after thumping Inver 9-3.

Bobby Gunn and Gary Weir both smashed in hat-tricks while the prolific Jonah Martens bagged a double. Gary Swanson also netted for Lybster.

Inver's strikes came via Jordan Hailes, Jack Corbett and James Beeston.

Staxigoe United pulled off a superb 3-1 win at Tain Thistle to book a home tie against Belmac .

Martin Banks had given Staxigoe the lead only for Martin Goller to level for Tain just before half-time. However, another strike from Banks followed by Chrissy Green's fine effort sealed the win.

Keiss' interest in the cup ended after being beaten 4-1 at home to Helmsdale.

The visitors were in rampant form with goals coming from Paul Gordon, Kevin Cairns and two from Billy Cairns. Ben Mackay scored a late consolation for Keiss.

There were no such problems for Watten as they turned on the style to demolish Invergordon SC 4-1.

Scott McAlpine and Darryl O’Sullivan had Watten 2-0 up only for Duncan Brown to peg them back just before half-time. However, Watten stepped up a gear after the restart and further goals from Shane Honeyman and Stuart Sinclair booked them a tie with Isle of Lewis side Point – likely to be played at a neutral venue.
