PICTURES: Caithness United players get advice on work ethic at annual presentation night
Wick Academy stalwart James More was guest speaker at Caithness United’s annual presentation evening.
James gave an insight into the 20 years that spanned his first and last appearances as a goalkeeper for the Scorries. He outlined his pathway from Caithness United to the Academy first team, while also giving the players advice on listening to their coaches and having a good work ethic – whether at training sessions or in games.
He also answered questions from the floor and presented the boys with their trophies.
James made his Academy debut aged 16 in a 2-0 win at Brora in April 2005 and played his last Highland League game in March this year, a 4-1 victory over Lossiemouth at Harmsworth Park.
The presentation evening took place in Wick’s Norseman Hotel.
During the event, the club handed over a cheque for £1000 to Elaine Fraser, senior coordinator of Caithness Rural Transport, a service run by Caithness Voluntary Group. Caithness United teams use Caithness Rural Transport for the vast majority of away games.
