Tuesday night saw the second tournament of the Wick and District Darts League season with the Quatercentenary Fours in Harper's Function Suite.

There were some close encounters in the early rounds. In the end it was a surprise win for the Norseman quartet of Saulius Kazakauskas, Frazer Malcolm, Willie McLean and captain Sandy Mackay after grinding out wins in the last four versus Smiddy “3” (4-1) and then in the final against Keiss outfit Village Inn (4-2).

The Keiss side defeated Harper's “B” 4-2 at the semi-final stage.

Seaforth won the ladies' event, defeating the Camps 4-1 in the final.

The Seaforth team members were Alison Tait, Kara Sutherland, Freda Perry and Julie Harper, with Sammy Troy, Jade Jones, Viki Miller and Jeanette Longstaffe turning out for the Camps.

There were two maximums – by brothers David Taylor and Richie Taylor

The league starts next week, with Norseman playing home games in the Seaforth club.
