THE race for the CAFA Division One title continues with Pentland United and Wick Groats showing no signs of blinking.

The sides are locked in a two-way race, with Pentland United ahead by a nose.

Pentland showed no mercy to struggling Halkirk as they hit them for six of the best at Ham Park.

Colin MacLean (3), Cameron Montgomery, Sean Campbell and Innes MacIntosh were on target in a thumping 6-0 win.

Wick Groats capitalised on Lybster’s jet-lag with a 5-0 victory at Cow Park.

Lybster had only just got back from their Spanish adventure against Recreativo de Huelva and a fresh Groats ran rings around their tired legs with Gavin Sinclair, Mark Macadie, Ryan Campbell (2) and Grant MacNab netting.

John O’Groats came away from the Dammies after pulling off an impressive 4-2 win at Thurso Swifts (below).

Grant Budge, Saleem Bremner (2) and Kevin Swanson struck for the visitors while Swifts’ goals came via a Stevie Morris brace.
