MAY Shearsmith, the grandmother of P5 youngster Bob Shearsmith, handed over the new strip she donated to Halkirk Primary’s ‘A’ team before the pupils took part in the inter-school football competition at the Naver all-weather pitch in Thurso.

The team went on to win the rural cup against Castletown, while the school’s ‘B’ team won its league. The girls’ netball team also won the rural cup against Castletown.
