Morven is top at badminton awards

MORVEN Coghill was named as Wick Junior Badminton Club player of the year after achieving a clean sweep of silverware this season.

She won the treble in the U17’s event as well as winning the girls league for the fourth year running.

She was the club’s overall, singles, mixed and level doubles champion, which she won with partners, Craig Stewart and Carly Sinclair.

Craig Stewart took the Boys Division One title and also took the Under 17's boys singles championship in addition to winning the level doubles championship with brother Paul.

Owen Mathieson picked up the treble win in the under 15s, Alan Gunn did the treble in the U13s and Matthew Aitkenhead picked up the treble in U11s.
