Thurso and Halkirk United will meet in a midweek derby next month as part of a busy run-in to the end of the North Caledonian League season.

League officials this week issued a revised fixture list following a recent spate of postponements affecting the 12-team division.

Fifth-placed Halkirk have played only 12 league games this season, fewer than any other club – and Thurso, who are bottom, have had the second-fewest fixtures at 13.

The Vikings will take on the Anglers on Wednesday, March 13.

In the first of this season's Caithness derbies, in August, goals from Jonah Martens and Andy Mackay gave Halkirk a 2-0 win.

Halkirk also have a rearranged Wednesday night game at Alness next week (February 21) and Thurso's visit to Golspie has been rescheduled for the following Wednesday (February 28).

This Saturday (February 17), the Vikings have a home fixture against Inverness Athletic while Halkirk United go to Bonar Bridge.

The following Saturday (February 24), Halkirk United will be at home to Bonar Bridge while Thurso visit Invergordon.

Thurso lost 4-1 to Clachnacuddin "A" in Dingwall on Saturday in a North Caledonian Cup first-round tie, while Halkirk United's scheduled league match at home to Fort William fell victim to the weather.
