Memorial cups go to Perry and Plank as Wick darts seasons gets under way

The Seaforth Highlanders' Club was the venue for Wick and District Darts League's first action of the 2023/24 season with the Willie Keith and Karen Burke memorial cups at stake.

There were gallant performances by the Campbell siblings, both of whom came through the youth darts set-up, but Sammy and Ryan lost in their respective finals.

Freda Perry and Willie Plank emerged victorious.

Two maximums were hit by Ryan Campbell (Smiddy "2"), while Kevin Macgregor (Seaview) and Willie Plank (Castletown Poachers) hit one a piece.

Shortest leg in 15 darts came from the men's winner and Harper's Sid Davidson.

There were ton-plus checkouts from Ryan Campbell (110) and Willie Plank (103 and 101), while Sammy Campbell hit two 140s and a 66 outshot.

Morgan Perry had a 140 and a 70 finish.

Losing semi-finalists in the ladies' event were Morgan Perry (2-3 v Freda Perry) and a new kid on the block, Skye Blackwell, who was beaten 1-3 by Sammy Campbell.

Stuart Tait (Seaview) lost 0-3 to Ryan Campbell in the men's competition, while Norseman's Willie McLean lost 1-3 to Plank

Next week it is league action.
