The talented forward was instrumental in the club’s good run in March which saw the Tangerines win all their four league games and climb to fourth spot in the SPL table.

United defeated Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Rangers, Hibernian and Dunfermline Athletic, scoring 10 goals and conceding just once. Mackay-Steven played a key role in all four matches and scored in his side’s 2-0 victory over Hibs. It is the second time he has received the trophy, having also taken the award in February.

The 22-year-old has been having a great season at Tannadice and has also featured in the Scotland under-21 team.

He was formerly at Liverpool and Airdrie before signing for Dundee Utd.
