DESPITE not being able to take part in horse riding events at the moment, some members of Caithness Pony Club have managed to keep themselves occupied by finding alternative competitions to enjoy.

In a recent Easter bonnet competition for all branches in Area 1, prizes were picked up by four local members. The judge was Scottish event rider Louisa Milne Home.

The team, comprising of Leoni Kennedy, Erin Hewitson and Ella Budge, came first in Area 1 and went on to take the overall runner-up title in the Scotland, North and Northern Ireland region. Aimee Holmes won the 12-and-under class and Ella Budge was third in the eight-and-under section.

Members of the club have also been busy compiling a video in tribute to all key workers to show their appreciation as well as taking part in a toilet roll challenge. The videos can be viewed on their Facebook page.

In addition to this they have donated £250 for food to stock the larder at Thurso Community Café.
