Listen: Balls & Whistles 23 – Scotland face England in Euro 2020, four join Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Ross County face tough start in Premiership and more!
We're still in Euros mode, even if Scotland's defeat to the Czech Republic did bring Will and Andrew back down to earth a little bit. With the Auld Enemy up next, it seemed like the right time for Highland News and Media content editor – and proud Englishman – Andy Dixon to make his Balls & Whistles debut to discuss each side's chances in the crunch match at Wembley.
That is not even close to all in a bumper edition of Balls & Whistles though, as Inverness Caledonian Thistle have been busy in the transfer market with four new additions, while Ross County manager Malky Mackay says he will not rush into signing players he does not think are the right fit for the Staggies and Carl Tremarco has hung up his boots.
The North Caledonian League division one title was wrapped up last weekend, while ICT Women returned to action in dominant fashion – while the Highlands and Islands League is set to return for the first time in two years.
Away from football, there was a bronze medal at the World Championships for paracyclist Fin Graham, there are updates from multiple golf tournaments – including a result for a homegrown talent as we were recording – and a good win for Northern Counties in the opening weekend of Nosca action.
It really is an action packed episode, and if you'd like to get involved in a future show you can get in touch on Twitter (@Balls_Whistles) or by emailing ballsandwhistles@hnmedia.co.uk.
