Numbers were slightly down for the December dressage league competition held at the weekend by Caithness Riding Club at the indoor school Halkirk.

Due to icy conditions on the day the scheduled judge, Kimberley Battleday from Fortrose, was unable to make the journey north so club chair Jean Gunn stood in with Shona Gough scribing.

Some of the entered riders were also not able to make it along on Saturday. A total of 13 competitors managed to brave the cold with 22 tests ridden.

The highest percentage of the day, 71.09, was achieved by Rowan Lee and Teddy in the Novice 24 class. This partnership won both of their novice tests.

A good team of committee volunteers helped make the day run smoothly.
