James Davidson and James Howden were the top performers for Seaview as they were put through the mill against the Old Smiddy Inn this week in a Wick and District Darts League Men's Division One encounter that could have gone either way.

It started with Richard Thain defeating Kevin Macgregor 3-1 and Graham Crowe defeating Calum Shearer, also 3-1. Things looked bleak for the visitors but Davidson beat Alan Harper and Howden saw off David Miller, also both 3-1 scorelines, and it was nip and tuck until Davidson and Howden hit a 17-dart 601 in the pairs (quickest this season) which gave them an average of 35.3 per dart. It finished 5-3 to Seaview.

Reigning champions Harper's “B” are all over the place at the moment. Having been knocked out of the cup last week, they were well beaten by Queen's “2”.

Kevin Donald had the best combination legs, 3-0 in 18, 17, 18 darts, for a 27.9 average.

The Park and the Queen's shared the points in Thurso, while Seaforth put Castletown to the bottom of the table. David Tucker Bain and Ronnie Plowman were their star performers and they were only one dart behind the Seaview pair with a 18-dart 601 pairs game.

In Men's Division Two the Norseman team are firing on all cylinders with a convincing victory and Sinclair Bay also won well.

The Comm quartet of Duncan Winfield, Willie Bain, Raymond Gunn and Bill Williams scraped a win against Harper's “C”.

In the ladies' division both the fancied teams won as they sit in the top two spots.

Vicki Miller posted a good win as she beat Freda Perry, while Meganne Shearer was the only winner for the Seaview ladies.
