Caithness teenager Jack Ryan and his navigator Robin Nicolson can still have a big say in the outcome of this year's Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge with two events to go.

This Saturday's Kingdom Junior Stages rally at Crail in Fife is round seven of the eight-round rally championship for those aged 14-17.

Jack and Robin's September outing at RM Condor, Arbroath, proved to be one to forget as they were put out of contention with electrical issues.

With a non-score and a non-finish already in the books, Jack (16), from Castletown, can still be a factor in both the overall and novice battles with solid finishes on the last two rounds.

Sam Pattison is the driver in the strongest position with five maximum-points scores. With six out of eight to count, the Citigo pilot needs just one more win from the last two events to guarantee the title.

Irish driver Kalum Graffin is the only other driver to take a win in 2022, topping the field on the first round of the season at Ingliston. Since then, his season has been a mix of ups and downs, including having to miss a round due to an injury.

The last round at Arbroath saw a return to top form, pushing Pattison all the way to the finish. Kalum is also still very much in the mix for the novice award.

Also in the title mix, Rian Walker has been one of the season's most consistent performers. A standout particularly in slippery conditions, Rian has become quicker with every round this year but has also suffered some bad luck.

Condor was a prime example, losing third gear towards the end of the day while fighting for a podium place.

Oliver Phillips has been similarly consistent, scoring points on every round. Fresh from a podium at Condor, Oliver is another in the mix for the novice award.

For Crail, Oliver has Barry Young in the hot seat after contesting Condor with Paul Hudson.

Thomas Milne and Neil Jeffrey top the Pearsons of Duns Trophy for Micra crews after a season of excellent pace in the white Nissan. They enjoyed a great battle with Evan Findlay's 107 at Condor.

Crail sees Evan out with another new co-driver, Graeme Meins.

Ollie Forrester and Alfie Letham are the other 2 Nissan Micra pilots on the entry list.

The last event of the season is the Glyn Memorial Junior Rally in Anglesey on November 19/20.
