Injury worries for Wick Academy with ‘games coming thick and fast’
Injury concerns are starting to mount for Wick Academy in the middle of a busy spell with fixtures on three successive Wednesdays as well as on Saturdays.
The Scorries travel to Inverness this midweek to take on Clachnacuddin in the Highland League, with Gary Manson’s side looking to get back on track after their 4-1 home defeat to Brechin City.
The manager said: “The games are coming thick and fast. We knew August was going to be busy and September is going to be the same.
“We picked up another couple of knocks on Saturday, so we’ll just need to rest up and see how we are for Wednesday and see what team we can put on the park.
“We don’t have our problems to seek at the moment in terms of injuries, so it’ll be interesting to see who is fit and available.

“That’s why we have a squad, and we’ve deliberately gone in with a slightly bigger squad this year. At times you’re thinking we’ve got a full bench – and then two games later you’re looking at only two really fit subs to go on.”
