Jonah Martens was the hero for Wick Groats as his injury time strike helped Wick Groats avoid an upset against Fortrose and Rosemarkie and progress into the quarter finals of the Highland Amateur Cup.

Martens gave Groats the lead at Upper Bignold, but Union, who play in the second tier Inverness and District First Division, equalised with a strike from Louie Wardrop.

Martens restored Wick Groats lead, but Union fought back again with Scotty Kenyon finding the net.

The game looked to be heading into extra time before Martens found a late winner to send Wick Groats into the last eight.

Wick Groats will now face Lerwick Celtic at Upper Bignold in the quarter finals on Saturday, July 15.

High Ormlie Hotspur's defence of the Highland Amateur Cup is over after they went down 2-1 to Lerwick Spurs in Kirkwall.
