Halkirk teams at the double as curtain comes down on Caithness winter rifle league

Round 15 brought down the curtain on the Caithness Small Bore Rifle Association winter league season, with Halkirk teams finishing on top in two of the five divisions.
Halkirk “A” ended up three points clear of runners-up Wick Old Stagers “A” in Division One, while Wick Old Stagers “B” took the Division Two title ahead of Dallas.
Halkirk “B” won Division Three, with Clachnacuddin “A” as runners up, and Stirkoke “C” took the Division Four honours ahead of Banff & Macduff. Westfield “B” came top in Division Five, with Clachnacuddin “B” as runners-up.
Eight shooters from three divisions hit the maximum 100 in the final round. They were R B Campbell and J Fraser (Halkirk), H Simpson and D Simpson (Wick Old Stagers) and W A Copland (Banff & Macduff), all in Division One, A W Paul and S S Nicolson (Wick Old Stagers) in Division Two and G G Levack (Halkirk) in Division Three.
