Stewart Gunn shoots to win at Thurso Golf Club

Round Six of the A&A Mackay builders Summer league saw Stewart Gunn (24) the clear winner with 42 points.

Tyler Gordon (14) birdied the 11th and was overall runner up on 39 points.

Chris Sinclair (22), Ross Williamson (21), and Douglas Metcalfe (27) all had 39 points one ahead of Keith Dreaves (15) and Andrew Lannon (16). Warren Gordon (5) and Alan D Mackay (23) the sponsor’s representative had 37 points.

The May Medal saw William Calder (34) beat William Calder Jnr to the medal after a remarkable net 58.

Alongside Calder Jnr on net 65 was Andrew Lannon and Darren Sinclair (12) with Ali Simpson a shot behind.

David Dunbar (2) had the lowest gross of the day with a 69 with birdies at the 13th and 18th offset with bogies at the 3rd and 10th.

Clark Grant (26), Jack and Stephen Fidler all had net 67s.

Scott Mackay (13), Steve Spargo (8), Alan Coghill (12) and Jim Farquhar (19) had net 68s and on net par 69 were Neil Reid (17), David Irvine (24), Bryan Suttar (7) and Jim Macleod (13).

Sunday the Bert Brownlee betterball was the prize and the winners were Chris Sutherland and Dane Nicolson with a score of 58.

In second place were Ronnie and Roddy Gray with 59 and on 60 was Kyle and Cameron Reid.
