The Scorries went in front after eight minutes when the striker beat the Clach defence to Gary Manson's cross from the right wing to head the ball into the net from close range.

Wick doubled their advantage midway through the first half when former Academy fullback Colin Macrae slipped and lost control of the ball in the box.

Gunn pounced and fired a low drive past goalkeeper Douglas Maclennan to make it 2-0.

Wick continued to dominate the match in the second half and Jack Halliday came close to making it 3-0 when his 25-yard effort had to be tipped over the bar by Maclennan.

Substitute James Beeston pulled one back for Clachnacuddin 15 minutes from time.

His sensational 25 yard strike found the top left corner of the net leaving goalkeeper Sean McCarthy no chance of stopping.

But Wick held on to bring all three points back to Caithness.
